About This Guide

Understand the Commitment Before You Make It

A promising product and an attractive supplier price are only the beginning of a trade decision. You still need to understand the buyer, product specification, delivery scope, cash timing and questions that remain open. The Indian Entrepreneur’s Import–Export Playbook connects those decisions in one practical learning cycle. Use it to prepare a focused offer and a route to investigate before committing to samples, deposits or stock. Keep the known facts beside the assumptions so the next conversation has a clearer purpose. An enquiry, an approved sample and a cleared receipt describe different stages. Recording which stage you have reached helps you identify the evidence still needed for the decision in front of you.

Give an Idea a Route to Testing

Explore focused export products, specialist imports and trade-support services through specific customer hypotheses and practical pilot questions. A cotton tote collection, packaging component or bounded supplier-research service becomes a proposal to investigate, rather than a vague instruction to start trading. The lessons ask what the buyer needs, which specification matters and what evidence would justify the next step. These are original teaching ideas, not verified demand, approved product lists or a directory of guaranteed customers.

See the Numbers With Their Scope Attached

Worked examples make currency direction, included shipment costs, saleable units and cash timing visible. A cost estimate after reviewed recovery is kept distinct from the gross amount you may need to pay first. A positive surplus is not automatically net profit, and a future receipt is not cash available for an earlier commitment. Practice with changed inputs, compare the reasoning and identify the exclusions before using a similar calculation in your own records.

Bring the Working Records Together

The companion Trade Planner includes shipment costing, a rolling cash schedule, opportunity records, partner checks and a shipment checklist. Use the manual records to name the owner, source reference, unresolved question and next action. The cash schedule keeps negative balances visible rather than smoothing them away. Excel and a linked Google Sheets viewer template give you separate working-copy options. Neither verifies a supplier, decides tax recovery or imports live freight, duty or exchange rates.

Prepare a Pilot You Can Review

Personal worksheets, action workshops and copy-ready AI prompts help you draft the next brief or organise the evidence to collect. Each prompt includes a human check; use sanitised facts and verify outputs against original records. The separate practice PDF repeats main-book exercises for convenient use. Start with one offer, one route and a bounded commitment, then review actual cost, acceptance and remaining obligations. Confirm transaction-specific requirements with the relevant authority, bank and qualified professional before acting.

What You Will Receive

Your download includes the complete guide PDF; a Practice Cases and Worksheets PDF repeating selected main-book pages; the same AI planning library in PDF, TXT and the XLSX Prompt Library; the Trade Planner XLSX; cover PNG and planner QR SVG; and START HERE text and HTML resource viewer. The book and viewer link to a Google Sheets Viewer template for making a private copy. The local XLSX revision and linked original are separate. Reading PDFs are not fillable forms. No physical goods, verified lead directory, professional service or shipment approval is included.

What’s Inside

Trade Ideas With a Clearer Test

Explore textile and paper exports, home and gift products, specialist imports and bounded trade-support services. Each opportunity is framed through an offer, customer hypothesis, specification questions and a small pilot to investigate. The operating lessons then narrow the route and buyer, distinguish qualified interest from an order and identify evidence needed before a commitment. Ideas are teaching hypotheses; demand and permission still need transaction-specific verification.

People, Products and Shipment Responsibilities

Work through buyer identity, payment-instruction checks, supplier capability, sample specifications, inspection scope and order acceptance. Shipping lessons address the named delivery point, packed dimensions, quote inclusions, document reconciliation and handoffs. Personal worksheets give these questions a structure you can complete from actual sources. Status labels remain human decisions supported by evidence, rather than automatic commercial approval, certification or customs clearance. Compare quotes on the same route and packed-shipment basis, retaining the inclusion notes, source date and person responsible for resolving each difference.

Shipment Costing With Explicit Inputs

The Shipment Cost sheet converts one invoice currency using an entered INR-per-unit rate. Add business-paid charges in INR, record tax paid separately from a confirmed recoverable part, and calculate saleable units, included unit cost, revenue and surplus. Required numeric blanks remain unresolved; confirmed zeroes are explicit. The local revision strengthens malformed-input handling. You supply reviewed costs, eligibility and delivery scope; the calculator provides no live rates or accounting-profit certification.

Cash and Evidence Records for Review

Cash Plan carries each weekly closing balance into the next opening, using the receipts, payments and evidence you enter. Negative cash is retained as a funding gap. It is independent of Shipment Cost, so schedule gross payments and any later recovery yourself. Opportunity Shortlist, Partner Checks and Shipment Checklist provide manual stage, status, owner and next-action records. These records support a review routine without synchronising transactions or sending reminders.

Practice Files, Prompts and Working Copies

The practice extract repeats main-book case, response and worksheet pages. Reading PDFs have no fillable form fields. The same AI planning library is supplied in PDF, TXT and the workbook, with human checks. START HERE and the HTML viewer link the resources and Google Sheets Viewer template. Make a private copy and replace fictional examples. The local XLSX revision and linked original are separate; native Excel and printing remain unverified.

Who It’s For

  • First-Time Indian Traders — When you are exploring a trade business, turn a broad idea into one offer, buyer hypothesis and route to investigate. Use the exercises to identify what still needs evidence before the first commitment.
  • Small Exporters — When you prepare a narrow product offer, review specifications, included costs and delivery responsibilities together. Use fictional cases to practise the reasoning, then build your own record from supplier, buyer and logistics evidence.
  • Specialist Importers — When an overseas item looks promising, examine its intended use, local buyer need, actual import requirements and saleable-unit economics. Keep product and route questions open until the appropriate sources and professionals resolve them.
  • Manufacturers Exploring Export — When your existing product may serve an overseas buyer, prepare a controlled sample, measurable specification and clear quotation scope. Use the pilot questions to review acceptance, repeatability and the commitment a larger order could require.
  • Trade-Support Service Providers — When you offer supplier research, catalogue preparation or shipment administration, define the deliverable, client approver and exclusions. Use the examples to prepare a bounded brief while leaving regulated decisions with authorised or qualified professionals.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in the import-export bundle?

Your download includes the complete guide, a convenient practice extract, AI prompts in PDF and TXT, the Trade Planner XLSX, cover artwork, a QR resource and START HERE text and HTML viewer. The guide and viewer also link to a Google Sheets Viewer template. No physical item, verified buyer list or professional service is supplied.

Are the product ideas verified opportunities or approved goods?

No. They are fictional teaching hypotheses for investigation across export products, specialist imports and trade-support services. Buyer demand, product classification, permissions, standards and route requirements must be checked for the actual transaction. The guide does not guarantee profit, finance or clearance.

What does the Shipment Cost calculator calculate?

It uses one invoice currency and your entered INR-per-currency-unit rate, plus business-paid INR charges. It separates gross cash outlay from cost after the reviewed recoverable amount, then uses saleable units and entered selling price for included unit cost, revenue and surplus. Unentered costs remain outside that result; surplus is not automatically net profit.

Why are blank inputs different from zero, and who decides recovery?

A required numeric blank means unresolved information; enter zero only when none is confirmed. The reviewed recoverable amount cannot exceed the tax-paid input, but that check does not establish eligibility or timing. Obtain appropriate advice for the transaction and schedule gross payments separately from a later recovery.

Does Cash Plan link automatically to the other sheets?

No. Enter opening cash, a valid Monday, expected receipts, payments and evidence directly into Cash Plan. It carries closing cash forward and retains negative balances as a funding gap. Missing movements remain unresolved. It does not import Shipment Cost, tracker entries or bank data, send reminders or arrange financing.

How do the Excel and Google Sheets versions work?

Preserve the master, replace fictional examples and keep a private working copy. The linked Google Sheet is an anyone-with-link Viewer template; use File > Make a copy and keep it Restricted. Local XLSX revision 1.1 strengthens malformed costing/date input checks. The linked original remains separate and unchanged; the copies do not sync. Native Excel and printing remain unverified.

How can I use the AI prompts?

Use the prompts to draft specifications, feedback questions, planning briefs and evidence requests from sanitised facts. Each has a human check. Verify figures, units, scope and current requirements against original sources; do not upload credentials or confidential records or treat AI output as a legal, banking, tax or customs decision.

Are the practice extract and prompt formats additional unique material?

The practice PDF repeats selected main-book case, response and worksheet pages for convenient access. The prompt PDF, TXT and workbook Prompt Library contain the same planning library. The reading PDFs are not fillable forms; write privately, print selected pages or use your own supported annotation tool.
